05. M. D. Rettigová writes about daguerreotype from Litomysl

19. June – Magdalena Dobromila Rettigová writes in Květy magazine (No. 25) about a visit of “Ondřej nobleman from Ettinghausen” to the rector of the Piarist college Florus Stašek in Litomyšl, and demonstrating work with previously sent “machine for creating Daguerre’s light pictures”. She also wrote there of pictures of the town “from several sides” that turned out well. She regarded the local institution as the first one in the Czech lands, where the making of daguerreotypes was successful.
