The first technical description of the daguerreotype process in the Czech language can be taken an entry in the textbook Silozpyt čili fysika, published in Prague in 1842, written by Plzeň gymnasium professor and a revivalist Josef František Smetana. Next to the Daguerreotype entry there is also the item “Darkbox (Camera obscura)”.
