First photography of races from Josef Pírka

Josef Pírka photographed Pardubice races for the first time (then up to 1937). Races, hunts with hounds, and also natural scenes and portraits of important personalities were Pírka’s most often photographed themes. Sometimes he magnified pictures to monumental sizes, and occas ionally the enlargements were the basis for a painting or a combination of painting, drawing and photography as a collage.
