Václav Zenger`s lecture “About photographing the invisible”

14. February - for the Minerva society, an association for supporting a gymnasium for girls, professor Václav Zenger (1830-1908) delivered a lecture “About photographing the invisible”. A detailed account of the two hour lecture brought among others the Hlas národa newspaper the next day. According to the text it is obvious that professor Zenger regarded “X-rays” as “a transformation of electrical radiation into light, a kind of electrical movement exciting fluorescence and phosphorescence”, which means that it was an erroneous understanding of the phenomenon. Professor Domalíp then published a notice in Národní listy (16.2.) that he did not conduct experiments with x-rays together with professor Zenger.
