First daguerreotype auto portrait

M. V. Lobethal made his daguerreotype auto portrait during his several months long residence in Prague, and placed it into a deposit box with a foundation stone in a bridge in Podolsko, where it was found as the oldest preserved auto portrait of a photographer in Bohemia in 1960. Together with the daguerreotype was found a leaflet with a picture of Lobenthal’s studio, the first depiction of a photographer’s workplace in this country. Identical picture of Lobethal’s studio was published in Teplitzer Almanach of 1847.
